An annual report people actually read
The College wanted its first Inclusive Excellence report, with input from departments and programs across the College.
The full report: original writing and curated photography, built through emails, meetings and coordination with nearly 50 stakeholders over more than eight months.
Delivered within budget and released by the College in early 2024.
The need
The VCU College of Health Professions set out to publish something it had never produced before: its first Inclusive Excellence report.
A report like that can’t come from one office. It had to reflect work happening across the College’s departments and programs, which meant gathering material and approvals from a lot of people.
Our approach
We worked with the College and with Stephan Davis, DNP, MHSA, the executive director for Inclusive Leadership Education and associate dean for Inclusive Excellence and Belonging.
Writing, design and photos are only half of an annual report. The other half is relationships and managing people. On this project that meant emails, meetings and coordination with nearly 50 stakeholders across multiple departments and programs, over more than eight months.
The finished report features original writing and curated photography. We kept the people, the drafts and the timeline moving, and we kept the project within the budget the College allowed.
The outcome
The project was challenging, and the result was rewarding. The College released the report in early 2024 and announced it with a news release.
